Privacy Policy
Effective July 26, 2026.
Information we process
- Account data: email address, authentication status, adult/parent-or-guardian attestation, and the legal-policy version accepted. Netlify Identity provides authentication.
- Billing data: subscription status, customer identifiers, and transaction records needed to provide Pro access. Stripe or Apple handles complete payment-card details.
- Device permissions: camera, microphone, photo library, and optional location are used only when you choose the related feature. Location is used on-device for field measurement.
- Optional anonymous product analytics: with permission, we record only signup, video selection, successful trace, export, and Pro-conversion events, plus a random session identifier, device-size category, and non-identifying feature settings. We do not attach email, video, filenames, frames, location, or trace coordinates.
- Bad-trace reports: if you press “Report a bad trace” and consent, we receive your account email, your written description, and technical diagnostics such as format category, file-size category, dimensions, duration, frame-rate category, confidence evidence, point count, browser details, and error message. The footage itself is never included.
How we use information
We use these records to authenticate accounts, provide subscriptions, support users, diagnose failed traces, measure the product funnel, prevent abuse, and meet financial or legal obligations. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Analytics choice
Analytics are off until you choose “Allow.” You can withdraw permission on this device at any time. Withdrawing permission stops future events; it does not affect the tracer.
Service providers
Netlify provides hosting, serverless storage, and authentication; Stripe provides web billing; Apple provides App Store distribution and in-app purchases. Each provider processes information under its own terms and privacy commitments. We require service providers to use data only to provide their services and protect it appropriately.
Retention and deletion
- Anonymous funnel events are scheduled for deletion after 13 months.
- Bad-trace diagnostics are scheduled for deletion after 90 days unless needed longer to resolve an open support or security issue.
- Account and subscription records remain while the account or subscription is active and as required for tax, fraud prevention, disputes, or law.
- Local videos and projects remain under your device controls and can be deleted locally at any time.
Any signed-in user can start full account deletion from Delete account. We target completion within seven days and send confirmation when completed. Records that must legally be retained will be isolated and kept only for the required period.
Children and youth baseball
Accounts may be created only by a person who is at least 18 or by a parent/legal guardian acting for a player. Baseball Hitting Tracer is not offered for a child under 13 to create or operate an account independently. Do not enter a child’s email or other personal information. Adults who record youth players are responsible for obtaining permission from the player’s parent or legal guardian and everyone else whose consent is required.
If you believe a child created an account or personal information was collected from a child without appropriate authorization, use the deletion process or contact support so it can be removed.
Security and choices
We use HTTPS, authenticated account requests, restricted operations access, and payment-provider checkout pages. No service can promise absolute security. You may deny optional device permissions, decline analytics, delete local projects, cancel billing, and request account deletion.
